We offered a job to a team of three that won the hackathon with a rough prototype that used AI to suggest pre-made answers to customer service agents.
The winning team formed our research and development department. They focused on developing a chatbot-building platform. After months of intense work and preparing a proof of concept, Botengine went live.
The product acquired its first customers a few weeks after launch. We gradually grew the team, and after buying the chatbot.com domain, Botengine became ChatBot. Right now, ChatBot is a global brand with over two thousand customers from around the world, including UEFA, Kayak, and Unilever.
It only took a couple of weeks from starting the work to releasing the MVP in the form of a LiveChat plugin that served as an Agent App extension.
What followed was a domain purchase, beta test sign-ups, and a quick product launch to validate the product-market fit. Over the following months, the team transformed the LiveChat add-on into the standalone product that we know today.
We started selling KnowledgeBase as soon as it came out of public beta. After its initial success, the product kept growing organically without much additional development. Right now, KnowledgeBase is used by hundreds of customers, and its expanding team is further developing the product, enhancing our ecosystem.
Three months later, they showed us a working solution — we could now make voice and video calls inside LiveChat. Since then, they’ve been working hard to improve it.
Our relationship with SnapCall is fruitful for three reasons:
And even though we believe that text-based communication is superior to voice and video, we stay open to this low-risk experiment because it also opens us up to similar partnerships in the future.
